Here at Duchally Hotel & Country Estate we are committed to providing excellent service while minimising the environmental impact of our operations.

ECO-FRIENDLY

Nestled in 27 acres of beautiful Perthshire parkland, our Resort is home to a wide array of wildlife including Red Squirrels, Ducks, Doves, Chickens, and several species of birds. The Resort boasts carefully landscaped grounds, cultivated with drought-resistant plants, and prioritising native species while steering clear of invasive varieties. As proud recipients of the Green Tourism Gold Award, we champion environmental initiatives that help to reduce our footprint including; a dedicated recycling centre at the Resort, energy saving initiatives, waste minimalisation, caring for our landscape and wildlife, and working with local suppliers. GOING LOCAL

We try hard to support local farmers and food producers and always endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing locally. Similarly, we prioritise seasonal ingredients whenever possible and products that are produced responsibly.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITIES

We strive to have a positive impact within our surrounding communities through local hiring and sourcing, and by supporting local businesses, initiatives, and charities.

RECYCLE AND REUSE

We’re dedicated to minimising waste destined for landfills through our dedicated recycling programme onsite including clear signage and instructions in all of our accommodation, a dedicated recycling centre onsite, and a waste management programme in place. Our Resort is committed to a philosophy of recycling, reusing, and reducing waste through proactive environmental stewardship.

REDUCING SINGLE-USE PLASTICS

We’ve stopped the use of single use plastics in our Restaurant, Bar, & Leisure centre, and have introduced ecofriendly alternatives including paper straws. Our Housekeeping team use refillable ecofriendly cleaning products throughout our resort that eliminates single use plastic from our cleaning programme.

MINIMISING WATER USE

Encouraging guests to reuse towels and linen has significantly reduced our water and energy usage. Some of our properties have installed low-flow fixtures and implemented other water-conserving programs like rainwater harvesting for garden irrigation and our gardeners intentionally choose plants that need less water.

REDUCING ENERGY USE

We’re committed to reducing our collective carbon footprint by reducing our emissions. We use LED or energy-efficient lights internally and externally. Timers and sensor systems are installed on items, such as the Jacuzzi at our Leisure centre and heaters in several lodges. As we continue to upgrade accommodation, we are installing more energy-efficient and automated systems.

ENCOURAGING NATURE

Duchally Hotel & Country Estate is taking steps to protect natural habitats and boost biodiversity. By planting native species and those compatible with the region, our gardeners avoid unnecessary pesticides and fertilisers.

SUPPORTING OUR GUESTS’ GREEN JOURNEYS

Communicating our green practices to our guests and engaging them in our journey is central to making a difference. We offer local walking guides and recommendations for day’s out that allow guests to embrace the very best of the Perthshire Countryside, also known as ‘Big Tree Country’.

STAFF AWARENESS

Within our resort portfolio, we empower our staff to prioritise sustainability and social responsibility. We encourage and actively support their green initiatives, as well as individual efforts in volunteering and charitable activities.

These breaks offer not just relaxation, but critical respite and rejuvenation, often acting as a lifeline in their challenging circumstances.

Kind Holidays has gifted over a thousand free holiday stays, thanks to partnerships with charities like Dreams Come True, Give Us Time, When You Wish Upon A Star, and Carers Trust. Together, we have extended the warmth of hospitality to some of the most grateful guests our resorts have ever had the pleasure of welcoming.
